The Association of War Affected Women organized a National level Peace table which was successfully held on Saturday 10th of November 2018 at Cinema Lounge of Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall Colombo with the key aim of contributing to make the Sri Lankan reconciliation process a collaborative and a well-coordinated effort.
The Panel discussion on “Ground Realities of Sri Lanka in its Road to Reconciliation”, Keynote speech, Chief Guest’s address, screening of the Transitional Justice animation and the formal presentation of the Peace Brief were the key highlights of the event.
Hundred and thirty (130) people attended the National Peace table. Her Excellency Former President of Sri Lanka Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga who is now heading a Reconciliation unit of the government graced the occasion as the chief guest. Co-founder & Executive Director of ICAN Madam Sanam Anderlini, and other influential dignitaries were also present to grace the occasion with their presence.
