22 nd -27th November 2018
AWAW in partnership with Didibahini coordinated a 4 day Learning Exchange Visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to take place between 22nd -27th November 2019.
A Field visit to a village to interact with the local community, meetings with key institutions working for peace in Nepal e.g. the truth and reconciliation commission etc., meetings with civil society organizations and reputed NGO’S specialized in Conflict transformation, Reconciliation and Peace Building, visits to cultural places of Buddhism, the main religion in Sri Lanka and a national level seminar were the key highlights of the learning Exchange Visit.
The overall goal of the project was to secure women’s inclusion in all Reconciliation Mechanisms of Sri Lanka by way of lessons learned and shared from the region by learning from the women of Nepal in Kathmandu and of the provinces of their initiatives of contributing towards the reconciliation process of their country.
